The ima YOICHI 99 is one of ima's most capable distance lures — a 99mm 28g heavy sinking pencil built for anglers who need to reach fish that are holding beyond comfortable casting range. Designed in Japan for seabass, it translates directly to WA beach and estuary fishing where casting distance and a shallow 10–60 cm presentation are exactly what's needed for mulloway, tailor and salmon.

The wide-slalom action at 28g gives it a distinctive swimming motion that heavier lures often lose. The Chartreuse Orange colour is a proven high-vis attractor pattern — effective in dirty water, low light and surf conditions where you need the lure to be seen.

HOW TO FISH IT

Cast it out and let it sink to the desired depth — the 10–60 cm range makes it ideal for working just below the surface over shallow flats, gutters and channel edges. A slow, steady retrieve activates the wide-slalom action. Vary the pace to trigger strikes from mulloway and tailor. Excellent from the beach, jetty or boat.
